Prepcasts Class 2 Predictions !
District 1: Malden Greenwave (6-1) roll easily through this district with high powered offense
District 2: Mississippi Area Blue Champions, Crystal City Hornets(6-1) should handle the Scott City Rams for the title.
District 3: Cuba Wildcats (4-2) and Maplewood Blue Devils (4-3) will tangle for title. Maplewood’s 2 consecutive losses and Cuba’s strength of schedule makes us lean to Wildcats.
District 4: Three different teams enter district competition with 5-2 records—Orchard Farm Eagles, Wright City Wildcats, Herman Bearcats so this should be quite a shootout ! We’re going with the Bearcats who own a very impressive win over Montgomery County. This district could be settled on tie-breakers !! Herman Bearcats
District 5: Unbeaten Centralia Panthers (7-0) should topple Montgomery County Wildcats (4-3) in game 10 to wear the district crown in 06.
District 6: Blair Oaks Falcons (6-1) should enter into the State Tournament as they march through a competitive district. Blair Oaks-Centralia sectional game will be a dandy !
District 7: The only blemish for the Clark County Indians (6-1) is a loss to state-ranked Brookfield Bulldogs. Look for the Indians to advance to face Brookfield again in sectionals !
District 8: Two 7-0 teams will lock horns during week 9 of this district. Brookfield Bulldogs and Trenton Bulldogs are both highly regarded – it should be the best game of this class in District play. We go with Brookfield to win this battle of the Dogs !
District 9: Bottom half of the bracket, sees Mt View-Liberty (3-4) prevailing in a district that could see Willow Springs or Cabool pull an upset.
District 10: Coming off a great game against defending State Champions, Marionville Comets, the Fair Grove Eagles (5-2) are our choice despite not owning the best record of the district which belongs to the Mountain Grove Panthers (6-1).
District 11: After an opening season loss to the powerful Greenfield Wildcats, the Pierce City Eagles (#2 in Spring River League behind Greenfield) have racked up 6 straight. We think that they’re going to continue that winning streak through district.
District 12: The most balanced district in Class 2 is right here ! Butler Bears, Lamar Tigers, El Dorado Springs Bulldogs are all 4-3 ! The Stockton Tigers are sitting at 3-4 ! With all this balance, obviously anyone could win it all. Prepcasts is choosing the Lamar Tigers !
District 13: Skyline Tigers (4-3) tied for 3rd in Mid Lakes Conference should emerge as champion after a tough struggle with Warsaw Wildcats who’ve played much larger schools in past 2 weeks.
District 14: Two 6-1 teams will meet right off the bat in week 7 as the Holden Eagles and Hogan Prep Charter take the field. We like the experience of the Eagles in this big 1st round game.
District 15: Lafayette County (Higginsville) has been up (big win over Grain Valley) and down (squeak by Richmond)all year against schools their size. We’re thinking that the Huskies will be “up” for 3 weeks and wear District 15 crown!
District 16: Week 10 will see the Lawson Cardinals and Plattsburg Tigers square off for the title. Each team is 5-2 so it’ll be a tight KCI conference game. Lawson is our choice!
