Old adage that bad things come in 3's. Well...Coach Van Hitt might be convinced of that idea now. Last week his Jackson Indian team was upset by Riverview Gardens, Coach Hitt broke his collarbone in a motorcycle accident on Tuesday and on Friday, Parkway South opened this week's game with a 90 yard KO Return TD !  OK... things were now ready to be turned around for Coach Hitt now that the threesome had occurred. His Jackson team (1-1) caused 5 turnovers on the way to  38-14 win over the Patriots. Comments from you on Jackson's opening 2 games bryan@prepcasts.com

Offense galore...more points than a pinball machine with 2 balls racking up points...how about 111 points, 1041 total yards, no doubt a set of frazzled defensive coordinators in the Joplin-West Plain game on Friday. Halftime score was 42-27 Joplin !  By the final buzzer, the scoreboard read 63-48 Joplin! Loaded with some unbelievable stats--here are a few: Soph Joplin QB, Devin St Clair,  in his 2nd varsity start goes 25 of 33 for 297, 6 TD passes and scored 2 more rushing TD's! Joplin WR Dane Kolkmeyer caught 9 balls fo 107 and 3 scores! Zizzers Tommy Meyer rushed for 207, 5 TD's and lost the game! It was a 7 point game 56-48 until Joplin put together a 14 play drive that culminated in a 4th down conversion pass(what else?) to finally ice the game ! Anyone from Joplin-West Plains--- tell us your feelings about the game bryan@prepcasts.com

Eyebrows were raised in Suburban North of St. Louis area when McCluer knocked off district rival, McCluer North 20-17 for the first time in 8 years. Anthony Moore's 8 yards run with 1:33 left gave the Comets the win. It's early but after 2 weeks, McCluer sits on top of Sub North with a 2-0 conference mark. Meanwhile, perennially tough, the NorthStars are 0-2 (dropped a game to Jeff City last week).   McCluer fans give us a shout out bryan@prepcasts.com

Using a George Patton-like ground attack , Pattonville Pirates ran, and ran, and ran on Friday night over the Riverview Gardens Rams. The Pirates rushed for 435 yards in 54 carries in route to a 36-26 win. Percy Calicutt led the way for the Pirates with 34 carries for 295 and 4 rushing TD's. RG QB, Joe Williams mixed his attacks. He went ground and air! Williams passed for 16 of 31 for 234 and rushed an additional 114 yards to keep the potent Ram offense counterattacking.  Pirate/Ram fans check in with us about the game bryan@prepcasts.com

A prime kicker is a real bonus in the high school level. The punt game alone is important for all teams but when a team has a kicker that can place kick, KO in  variety of ways, you really have an edge on most opponents at key spots of the game.  For example, in the thrilling Park Hill - Blue Springs South tilt, Park Hill jumped out front 21-3 after the first quarter as they piled up 234 total offense in that first stanza. BSS scored on their final two possessions to tie the game in exciting fashion. After scoring a TD with just 2:05 remaining, kicker Brian Geraghty kicked a perfect on-sides that Jaguars recovered. When the offense stalled, Geraghty booted a pressure-packed 31 yard FG through the uprights to send the game into OT. BSS scored on their  possession in first OT and Geraghty was perfect on the PAT. Park Hill scored and decided to go for the win. Their star running back, Sam Pour was stuffed short of the goal line and BSS averted it's 2nd consecutive defeat of this early year. Some other offensive stats of note: Sam Pour 19c/168 yards and 2 TD's. Mizzou recruit, Blaine Dalton (BSS QB) was 23 of 42, 260 yards, 2 TD passes, 2 INT.  Fans of BSS & Park Hill send us your reactions to your team and game bryan@prepcasts.com

One of the surprise teams in St. Charles County is St. Charles West. The Warriors upped the record to 2-0 with big 42-21 over Ft Zumwalt North. The Warriors fell behind 14-0 after the first quarter but rallied with 21 points in the 2nd quarter. Brannon Champagne doesn't do a little of everything, he does a LOT of everything.  He scored 2 TD's, passed for 2 TD's, kicked 5 extra points, was 2nd on team with 8 tackles, carried the ball 14 times for 93 yards, passed 3 of 8 and ran back 2 punts !  WOW! This week Prepcasts will have the very important Timberland-St Charles West game. SCW fans, shoot us your thoughts  bryan@prepcasts.com

MORE PROLIFIC NUMBERS by the seemingly unstoppable Ray-Pec Panthers(2-0) who  have turned over their QB duties to a Sophomore, but not just any sophomore! Cameron Coffman led the Panthers to a whopping 60-41 victory over the Liberty Bluejays(1-1) . Coffman was 18 of 21 for 534 yards and 5 Touchdowns ! Coffman hit his first 8 passes of the game (230 yards worth) so I assume that his confidence was skyrocketing (as were his passing numbers!).  Panther fans let us know what's going on there bryan@prepcasts.com

We always enjoy the last second thrillers! Doesn't everyone ? How about the Pacific Indians. Tim George dove into the end zone with 50 ticks left to give the Indians  a 22-21 win over Potosi(1-1) in non-conference play. Pacific(1-1) piled up 300 yards of offense after racking up 200 in the first half.  The winning TD followed a safety that gave Pacific great field position and they capitalized for the win.

Indian fans, your thoughts on the comeback byran@prepcasts.com
