…the Oran Eagles (23-4) silenced the booming bats of Saxony Lutheran
9-0 to advance to the State Final Four. Chase Seyer faced only 2 batters
over the minimum in his impeccably pitched game. It’s the 4th trip
in 5 years for the Eagles. Congrats to the Crusaders who are only in the
2nd year of baseball and reached the State quarters!

..how about this Class 1 quarterfinal score…Stoutland Tigers 21 Crane
Pirates 9..thinking rout, boring, one-sided-- NO WAY…this game was
an 11 inning thriller that saw the Pirates just run out of pitching!

…The Westminster Wildcats (20-4) were behind the Mexico Bulldogs 6-0
after just 2 innings, but rallied with a run in the 5th, 6 more in 6th and
an insurance run in 7th to grab their 1st ticket to the Final Four in Columbia.
Topsy-Turvy!
…Logan Rogersville Wildcats (15-8) big upset win, 3-2 in 8 innings
over the state ranked Warrensburg Tigers (23-4) in the quarterfinals mixed
up the Class 3 expectations according to many experts. The Wildcats fell
in the quarters to the defending State Champions—Webb City Cardinals

the radar!
..quietly, the Ft Zumwalt South Bulldogs won 20 games, won district, then
smashed the red-hot Hickman Kewpies13-4 in quarters before falling in 9
innings to Hillcrest Hornets.

3 Sport Athlete—now in the year 2006? Does he have an S on his chest?
…Marvin McNutt was the starting QB, starting forward in basketball
and now he stars on the diamond! His grand salami broke open a tight battle
with the SLUH Jr Bills and propelled the Hazelwood Central Hawks to a convincing
11-1 win and a semifinal spot.
And
still standing….
…only 1 State Champion has worked their way back to Columbia! Our
hats off to the Cardinals of Webb City (20-4) who will face the Westmister
Wildcats on Friday.

breathing room…
….the Silex Owls edged N.Franklin 3-1 in the sectional round and then
kept NE-Cairo from returning to STATE by sneaking by them 4-2 in the quarterfinals.
As you recall, the Owls were a Final Four team in basketball this year also.
